GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
HONGKONG. 17th. October, 1912.
I have the honour to inform you that portions
of the lots numbered 736, 878, 887, 902, 911, 926, 927 and 929 on the accompanying plan were resumed by the Government in August, 1910, in connection with the construction of the Shataukok-Castle Peak Road but compensation was not then paid owing to the unwilling -ness of the owner, Mr. Ho Tung, to accept the amounts offered.
Mr. Ho Tung has recently asked that he might be given Lots 734 and 735 edged in pink on the plan in lieu of the
compensation which he refused and stated at the same time that he
did in fact purchase the lots in 1900 but owing to a mistake of
his agents no claim to them was presented to the Land Court.

In view of the above facts I caused Mr. Ho
Tung to be informed that Government would grant him the lots which
were valued at $131 if he were prepared to pay the difference
between that sum and the compensation due in respect of the areas
resumed in 1910 $56.60. This offer he has accepted and I according-
-ly submit the matter for your covering approval.
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient,
humble servant,
A
Governor,&c..
